Monster Hunter Now Hands-Off Preview – Collab With Monster Hunter Wilds

It’s only a little ways away until Monster Hunter Wilds is released. Another Monster Hunter title is also building up for this launch: Monster Hunter Now, the mobile game from Niantic in which you team up with your friends in the outside world to tackle monsters. I got the opportunity to view what the team of Niantic is cooking up for this release as they are already in the middle of a collaboration with Monster Hunter Wilds.

Niantic’s Goal

When getting on board with Monster Hunter Now, Niantic wanted to use the property to help people go outside and interact with their local communities. As they see it, the Monster Hunter initially was made as a handheld title to help people come together to take down challenging monsters. This is the concept they wanted to bring back with Monster Hunter Now.

Season 5

The beginning of Season 5 is March 6th, 2025. There will be two new monsters introduced in this season. The two monsters are Glavenus and Arzuros. Kulu and Tzitzi colored outfits will be new outfits for players.

During Season 5, certain balance changes will be occurring. First, a skill named shared sword will be implemented in parties. This will increase your weapons’ damage when you are in a party with other players. A perfect rush with a sword and shield will inflict increased damage.

One of the more requested changes with the dual daggers is getting addressed. If you are in demon mode, you can hold the attack and flick down, you can undo the demon mode. This makes it so you don’t get stuck in demon mode. The Hunter Bow also gets more damage on a charge level four attack.

Monster Hunter Wilds Collaboration

There is a collaboration currently going on but the next phase of the collaboration will be happening once the game releases February 28th, 2025.

The first big part of this next phase of the collaboration is a new monster, Chatacabra. This is a monster that is introduced in Monster Hunter Wilds so it will be a brand new monster in the series.

New layered armor will be added that makes you look like you are riding a Seikret, the new mount that is being introduced in Monster Hunter Wilds. It is more like a balloon that your character rides as it doesn’t have the Seikret move its legs so it is essentially a Halloween balloon.

There will be new armor and weapons released with the collaboration as well. They are called the Hope series of equipment. The hope weapons don’t do elemental damage but they have a large base Attack stat. Players will be able to get tickets to create these weapons immediately. The Hope equipment looks like the basic equipment your character gets in Monster Hunter Wilds.

Happy Almost 1.5 Year Anniversary

Season 5 will also see the 1.5-year anniversary of Monster Hunter Now. The official start of the anniversary is March 17th, 2025. Niantic wants this anniversary to be an event that gives plenty of rewards and resources to players.

One important thing that will be added is a new marketplace. In this marketplace, players will be able to trade in materials for more rare resources.

As you can see, Monster Hunter fans will have plenty to do this month with Monster Hunter Wilds releasing at the end of the month and constant updates to Monster Hunter Now. Be excited about the new season pass, the collaboration, and the gifts that we’ll be getting for the 1.5-year anniversary coming up.

If you haven’t checked out Monster Hunter Now, which is free-to-play, you can do so on the Apple App Store or Google Play. your Apple iOS devices or Android.

Monster Hunter Wilds releases on Feb.  28th, 2025, for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam).
